First, get rid of the unpleasant work!

“The only way to improve tomorrow is to know what you did wrong today.” Robin Sharma

The overall level of stress in our work life is high. Except for those who have exceptional work, people seem to be a mouth about how stressful their job is. Everybody has a lot of work to do every day, and people often complain about not completing them on time. However, stress reduction and more efficient work are not topics considered enough.

What if I told you that one of the biggest causes of stress in our daily lives is the delay and avoidance behavior? We mostly focus on enjoyment, so we tend to avoid things that we don’t like much. When we first come to our desk at work, we choose to sip our coffee and deal with the issues we love and deal with more easily. By this way, the first few hours of the day are the most enjoyable times of many employees. And we can say that this behavior has become a habit in many businesses. Things that scare us, kill fun, or that are stressful are always wait to the end.

A difficult task to do; making a phone call to a customer who you afraid to call and who is also important for your business results; speak with your manager on a matter you have to defend; to share news to your employee that you think he/she will be disappointed; or any business that you don’t like doing. Of course, I can’t claim that this kind of work is a pleasure; but when they stay still as unfinished; we become more depressed, they keep our minds busy, and make it harder for us to focus on other jobs. Especially if there is a specified deadline, they become the nightmare of the employees as they approach the end time.

The behavior of pleasure is not a very accurate choice in terms of time and work management. This selection has two particularly troublesome consequences. First, when you start with the tasks you like, you can spare more time than necessary. This attitude also appears the risk of a result we do not want; such as the absence of focusing on the hard and unpleasant tasks, we might need to finish them at home. The second is that when the deadlines are closer these tasks stress you, and even when you’re dealing with your favorite work, you can’t enjoy it, and you can’t keep your day out of anxiety.

No matter how hard it may be, focus on critical, difficult or unpleasant tasks before comfortable and pleasant ones and get rid of them. These kinds of issues can put you in stress and can cause your day to be inefficient, as long as they are unfinished. Also, you can complete such problems with more accurate decisions and faster in the calm state of your mind. After you finished the unpleasant work, you can work more efficiently by completing pleasant ones without feeling tense in the background.
